Coach Mitchell started off as a computer science major at the University of GA although Mr Mitchell felt like he wanted to do something else. Which is why he went to the basketball coach during this time and volunteered his services as a coach for the summer camps at the school. He then got to travel all the way to the final four with them and said it was one of the best experiences of his life getting there. This was all due to him attending Summer camps.
Vic had a job ready for him at a middle school in Cobb county in 986 which he turned down to in order to have a interview for the womens head basketball coach at Reinhardt College. Vic got the job and after 4 years at the school he decided to take the job at Shorter Uni. This is mainly because of recruiting and the fact it was a four year school. RC at the time was only two year. Coach Mitchell has been at shorter he has taken over several roles, and only until the last couple of years has he been able to concentrate on basketball again. Golf, cross country, and AD were some of the other roles he undertook whilst at shorter.
Coach Mitchell ended on one life lesson and that was ' the worst thing you can do for someone is something they can do for themselves' . This was a very wise statement I thought an I really enjoyed coach mitchells speech and can say I took something from it.

Coach Popp Visit
In my sports admin class we have several guest speakers come to visit us with the most recent being our head athletic director, Coach Bill Popp. He came in to talk about his life through college and what he done afterwords to get to where he is now.
Coach Popp graduated from KSU in 1992 with a degree in sports management. Like our degrees at Reinhardt he also had to complete an internship. Coach Popp completed his internship at Oglethorpe University as an assistant coach for the baseball team. One thing lead to another and he was offered the head coach position and also asked to look after some other duties around the campus. He remained there for 12 years. The position for the Reinhardt head coach opened up and he applied for it and got the position on the circumstance that he would take over for the current Head Athletic Director. After 6months of being the head baseball coach he resigned to become the first full time AD at Reinhardt due to the coming of football at the school.
Coach Popp has many different duties as a Head AD, these duties include recruiting, retaining athletes and most importantly works on accounts making sure each coach has an allocated budget that they can use for Uniforms, Training GEar and Scholarship dollars for players. Finally, his main job is also to help start fundraising programmes so that there is always money in the Reinhardt Athletics Budget.
I loved hearing what Coach Popp had to say about his career since College and it has given me a new belief in that there are many possibilities on where you will end up despite the degree you obtain or the career you may go for straight away.
